Object : Rectangular Imari plate from the mid-Edo period (1700-30), decorated in underglaze blue as well as overglaze colours and gold. Size : 15.5 x 11 cm (6 x 4.5). Marks : "Dai Min sei ka nen sei" (in Japanese kanji characters, underglaze blue) - an apocryphal Chinese Chenghua reign mark.
