THIS LISTING IS FOR A GORGEOUS ANTIQUE JAPANESE "FUKAGAWA" MINIATURE PORCELAIN VASE, c. FINE QUALITY PORCELAIN VASE, BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED WITH COLORS OF THE IMARI PALETTE WITH GILDED EMBELLISHMENT. MARKED USED FROM 1892 TO EARLY 1900's. MEASURES 3 1/4" HIGH WITH A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 3 1/2", THE TOP DIAMETER IS 1 5/8" AND THE BASE IS 1 1/2" IN DIAMETER.THE CONDITION IS EXCELLENT WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR REPAIRS. THERE IS MINOR RUBBING TO THE GILDING AROUND THE UPPER EDGE AND RING HANDLES AS EXPECTED WITH NORMAL WEAR (SEE PHOTOS) - NO OTHER NOTED FLAWS. THE FUKAGAWA FAMILY BEGAN WORKING IN THE HIZEN PROVENCE OF JAPAN AROUND 1650. AFTER 1868, MOST OF THEIR PORCELAIN WARES WERE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR EXPORT IN THE WESTERN TASTE.
